The Chairman of the Standing Committee on Interior of the National Assembly, Raja Khurram Nawaz, has said that the NLC and FWO should tell the management of FWO and NLC are willing to do their duty or not.

The meeting of the Standing Committee on Interior of the National Assembly was held under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Committee, Raja Khurram Nawaz, in which CDA officials gave a briefing on the ongoing development projects in Islamabad.

The Chairman of the Committee said that the Sihala Bridge project has been underway since 2019, if this project is with the FWO, then tell them to complete it. The DG CDA replied that the FWO wants to ensure the timely provision of funds. PPP Member of the National Assembly, Agha Rafiullah, said that institutions like the FWO delay the project.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz member, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, said that they do this to ensure transparency. The officials of the Ministry of Interior said that last year we had given funds of 400 million for this project, but still there is a question for shortage of funds. On which Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry blamed the CDA for explaining the real problem for the delay of the project.

Chairman Committee Raja Khurram Nawaz said that there is nothing to fear. If the FWO is not working, then dismiss them and withdraw them from the project. It has been 6 years, and you have not been able to complete it. By the way, the Chairman CDA has taken the contract for the entire place. The Chairman CDA is also doing the interior work. He should give us a clear answer about this in the next meeting.

The issue of the Parliament Lodges not being completed and rats running there was also discussed in the meeting, the Chairman Committee asked the CDA officials to give us a briefing regarding the Parliament Lodges.

PTI Member of National Assembly Jamshed Dasti said that rats are running in my lodges.

In response, CD officials said that we are waiting for funds, if funds are received, we will go for retainer.

The chairman committee directed that the relevant authorities, including CDA member planning, should definitely come to the meeting after a week and tell us what work the CDA people are doing.

Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that the disputes with the CDA contractor are not ending, so how will they complete these projects? This was a 2008 contract for Parliament Lodges; we also know the contractor. The project was delayed, which increased the cost.
