Sindh Government’s decided to buy electric vehicles for employees

KARACHI: Sindh government has decided to auction the idle vehicles within a month and buy EVs for government employees of Karachi.

An important meeting of the Sindh Cabinet Sub-Committee on Austerity was held in Karachi under the chairmanship of Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, in which Provincial Ministers Saeed Ghani, Zia-ul-Hasan Linjar, Ali Hassan Zardari and secretaries of various departments participated.

On this occasion, the secretaries of various departments presented the 10-year records related to government vehicles.

Speaking in the meeting, Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the auction process should be completed within a month so that resources are not wasted and the need for new vehicles can be met. Buying EV vehicles will benefit the government, save POL, also facilitate their auction.

The senior provincial minister said that the auction of idle vehicles is also in progress, the auction will be conducted with full transparency. All concerned officials and departments should follow the new guidelines to avoid legal action.

Speaking, Saeed Ghani said that timely auction of idle vehicles is very important, it will reduce unnecessary expenses. Departments who have excess vehicles should return their excess vehicles to the government.

Zia-ul-Hasan Linjar said that work is being done rapidly to identify idle vehicles and ensure compliance with government policies. Our aim is to save people’s money and ensure the expenditure is as per the needs
