11 fake medicines were seized by DRAP during the crackdown in different cities of Punjab.

According to the sources of The INQUIRER, the Drug Control Directorate Punjab has seized eleven fake drugs from different cities while cracking down on fake drugs across the province and DRAP has confirmed that the samples of these eleven drugs are fake.

According to the source, fake medicines have been manufactured under the brand names of various pharmaceutical companies and the packets of these medicines have the addresses of pharma companies in Karachi, Lahore, Sargodha, Taxila, and Khattar.

Drape’s ongoing alert states that a batch of Novidet Tablets, Carinol, Histocare, and Trilake Syrup a leading brand of antibiotic used in severe pneumonia, nose and throat infections, is counterfeit and was a venom for humans.

Two fake gynecological medicines, two fake batches of S-Kine, Myron tablets, and Myron tablets have been seized from DRAP. Not only this but strips of mesh plastic from Paris have also been seized as fever and body ache medicine.

The fake drugs that have been caught. These include two fake antibiotic injections including Vitalwall Antibiotic Injection used for cattle diseases. All these medicines are used for the various types of bacterial infections in cattle.

In the Drip Alert, the Punjab government has been asked to take emergency measures to prevent fake medicines, saying that the efficacy of fake medicines is unclear and treatment may be affected.

DRAP directed a comprehensive investigation into the supply chain of fake drugs in Punjab, directing the Punjab Drug Control Directorate to survey the provincial markets, the Regulatory Field Force to ensure effective surveillance in the Punjab market and identify the suppliers of fake drugs, and the Regulatory Field Force. There are instructions to ensure the elimination of fake medicines from the market.

DRAP has also directed distributors and medical stores to report fake medicines immediately for the sake of Nation.
